South Austin is truly special—rich in history and culture. Did you know that South First Street has been a vibrant part of Austin since the 1800s, blending its historic roots with a lively modern vibe?
Some local favorites to check out include Güero’s Taco Bar for authentic Mexican flavors, Home Slice Pizza for a delicious slice, Odd Duck for innovative farm-to-table dishes, Pinthouse Pizza for great craft beers, Radio Coffee & Beer for relaxing with good drinks and live music, South Congress Cafe for stylish dining, and Josey Records for vinyl lovers. It's a fantastic area full of character and great spots to eat and hang out!

|Recommended: YesThe staff and management team at Silver Creek Apartments is exceptional. They are easy to work with, responsible, meticulous, follow through, communicate well, and overall or a pleasure to deal with. They have been extremely helpful and resolving a problem in a timely manner. The apartments are well designed and maintained, and the grounds were just newly landscaped in some places. The parking is great. The swimming pool is lovely. The mail room is locked so the mail stay safe and packages can be delivered to the office or your door as you choose. Overall, silver Creek apartments are great apartment complex Small and friendly.

|Recommended: YesI would only recommend living here if you hate yourself and have zero self respect and enjoy painted over hair where you live. Management doesn’t care about residents. Less than 24 hour notice on outside companies entering your home. Less than 24 hours notice about roof repairs and needing to move your car at the risk of being towed. Horrible communication from the top down. Don’t waste your time or money. Also- the cops are here constantly cause someone runs around doing hard drugs that lives here and they won’t kick them out.

|Recommended: YesLocation, Affordability, And Modest Apartment Homes. — I've lived here since January 2020 and I do love my particular apartment home- its layout, design, and size. These apartments are not luxurious nor super modern but they meet all of my current needs, provide a comfortable living situation, all while being centrally located and affordable. The latter two are huge pros for living in Austin. Biggest cons, personally-speaking I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking around and it can be loud at times I have heard my downstairs neighbor playing loud music but that seems to have stopped happening lately the windows doors could be better insulated I suspect my HVAC unit outdoors needs to be upgraded but that probably won't happen until it just stops working. My HVAC unit is quite loud and looks old compared to the surrounding HVAC units. Staff here has always been helpful and pretty responsive. Sometimes I've had to send a follow-up email due to no response but that's rare. Lastly, it would be great if we could acquire another large recycling receptacle from the city or whomever so the one large one we have isn't always overflowing with recyclables. And, I'd like to see better enforcement of the rules for pet owners when their dogs are off leash and especially when dog waste is left behind around the property. With that said, I can say I am very likely to renew my lease here at Silver Creek again.
